We currently have an exciting opportunity on the Nellson team! We are seeking an energetic and results oriented System Administrator to provide support and maintenance for IT infrastructure.

Role Summary:

The System Administrator, being is an essential member of the Nellson IT Team, will provide support and maintenance for our IT infrastructure which includes server and network equipment as well as the VoIP phone system.  Reporting to the Infrastructure Project Manager, the System Administrator position will need to have a broad knowledge of server and network experience, with the ability to quickly learn new and unfamiliar technologies. This position will be responsible for regular on-call shifts for 24x7 systems support and need to troubleshoot and fix problems in a timely manner at all hours of the day or night. The System Administrator will be an integral part in the day-to-day operations and planning for the future of our IT infrastructure. The System Administrator is responsible for installing and configuring switches, wireless, VOIP, Server hardware and Operating system software, SAN configuration and support, server applications including third party software technologies, training and supporting employees on the corporate network. 

 

INITIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction.
  • Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software for tickets and assets.
  • Understand skill limits and escalated issues for timely resolution.
  • Document and improve internal procedures.
  • Resolve desktop, printer, network, server and application issues in a timely manner.
  • Image, install, configure, and test new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.
  • Assign user and computers to proper groups in Active Directory.
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required.
  • Assist with onboarding of new users.
  • Support basic networking tasks relating to IP routing.
  • Setup, configure, and support on-site phone systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a relevant subject matter preferred.
  • 5+ years equivalent work experience in an enterprise network/windows domain environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft technology (Active Directory/Server 2008 & 2012, Windows 7/10, MS System Center, Hyper-V)
  • At least 3-5 years of provisioning Windows Servers in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
  • Willingness to work outside of business hours on weekdays and on weekends to support the environment.
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
  • Willingness to learn new software, hardware, and technologies.
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Travel (up to 25%) at times
