We currently have an exciting opportunity on the Nellson team! We are seeking an energetic and results oriented Electro Mechanic with solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, programing and troubleshooting PLC's of all automated plant equipment to join our Maintenance team at our plant in Ontario, California.

Role Summary:

The Electro Mechanic is a proactive control systems technician support role for manufacturing operation, focusing on equipment troubleshooting and maintaining material handling equipment such as conveyors, robotic system, scanners, cameras, automation equipment, HMI systems, and control cabinets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automation and robotic machinery using PLC programs.
  • Maintain material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other defects
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts. Fills our out repair reports for supervisor
  • Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair to verify success of repair.
  • Repairs/replaces broken parts.
  • Assists engineering and production teams as an information resource and or hands on via internal services request.
  • Provides regular updates to Maintenance Management / Supervision regarding status of projects and assignments

 Position Requirements:

  • Ability to identify, maintain and troubleshoot AB RS LOGIX 5000 PLC's and PLC components
  • Ability to identify and maintain Robotics system components
  • Ability to identify, maintains, and troubleshoots HMI components
  • Ability to identify, maintains, and troubleshoots control network components
  • Ability to identify, maintains, and troubleshoots Motor Controls including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components.
  • Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
  • Ability to train others with lesser skills
  • Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility
  • Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others.
  • Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred associates degree.
  • 5 + years automation technician experience.
  • Robotics programming (Fanuc).

    • Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
